Seventh Thunder is a band that featured Robert Rodriges (Vett Roberts) and John Gonzalez (John Christianson,) both of who would go on to form Recon and release the classic power/progressive metal album Behind Enemy Lines in 1990. Seventh Thunder shares some stylistic similarities with Recon – especially Robert’s vocals. The music here leans more towards power/traditional metal – but you still hear some progressive metal influences. This was released in 1987, which was the same year Recon was formed – so I wonder if this was actually an early version of Recon? The sound quality on the demo is kind of rough, as there is a noticeable buzz on the tape (sounds like the tape was dubbed at some point on a deck that had too much interference) in addition to the usual tape hiss, but you can mostly hear the quality songs underneath the noise.
