To be honest, I expected this to be one of those cheesy rock tapes that never really gets to the level of “hard rock” but somehow got lucky with some interesting cover art. Something about the name I think. But this is more like hard rock/heavy metal with both male and female lead vocals (they tend to trade off). Those that don’t like keyboards in their pop metal will call this hard rock, those that want tamer guitars in their hard rock will call this metal. Also, there is only 1 ballad on this – not enough to fulfill the pop metal quota of 3 :). In 1988, this band would have probably been on Headbanger’s Ball once they were signed and smoothed out the rough edges from the demo. They do a great job of writing and recording pop metal, don’t get me wrong. It is just a bit demo-ish in places. One track has made it on to YouTube it seems:
