This was actually a collection of songs that a member of the band shared a while back (no longer available, sorry). In that collection were all of the songs for Stark Raving Glad as well. However, the songs were mostly in alphabetical order, except for the first 5 songs that were set apart but also in alphabetical order. You can tell that different songs come from different recording sessions, so they are probably from other releases that I haven’t heard of. Or they are unreleased songs. Anyways, “Searching for the Last Amen” is a studio version of the song on their live tape Heady Summers Ending. The songs are like the two other tapes that are reviewed here – energetic guitar-driven alternative rock.

  1. Original Love
  2. She Said
  3. Bridge Over Nothing
  4. No-One

I’m not exactly sure where this release falls in the bands discography – it was sent to people as part of a huge collection of all of the band’s song that didn’t have any dates or descriptions (sadly, no longer available). I found some details on Crossrhythms, and I have reviewed their live tape Heady Summers Ending (no date) before, but that is about all I know. They play an energetic and passionate form of 90s’s English alt-rock that is heavy on the guitars (crunchy enough to be metal, but not played as metal). I have also found a listing for a 7-inch called Blood Runs Out, but it seems like they would have several more releases based on the amount of songs in the collection.

This is a live tape by Hope Springs Eternal, who also put out a single called Blood Runs Out in 1991. There is no date on it, but it does have a distinct 90s British alternative sound to it. The tape label indicates that this is mailing list release only – not for public sale. The between song chatter is mostly left on the tape, but not much of the crowd sound was picked up. Also, only about half of the lyrics made it on to the j-card, but it is laminated and not missing any pieces. Interesting. Anyways, this tape shows that the band could give an energetic show, and probably hold their audience attention for a whole show. “She Said” is from their 1992 tape Stark Raving Glad. There is also a studio version of “Searching for the Last Amen” that was shared online at one point, but it is unknown what release that was from.
