  4. Rocking for the Rock

I know I talk a lot about what the front covers look like here, but sometimes that is about all I have to go on. While the dude on the front cover of this tape looks like he was either in Duran Duran or Guardian during the First Watch era, this release is neither metal nor new wave. It’s… rock I guess? I mean, there is also a rap track (“This Man is Jesus”) that sounds… well… just like you would think this guy sounds. Mostly, this just sounds like what people sounded like when they decided “hey, let’s do some hip music for the kids these days!” Only problem is that this was 1988 – the time of Guns N’ Roses, NWA, and all kinds of more “street” level music. Stuff like this tape was early 80s pop rock/R&B mostly. Oh, and yes there are two early Whiteheart covers on here – which brings a rock element to it.

  1. Good friend of mine. Terry was immersed in a subculture of Christian broadcasting and strong ministry roots. He did this record more for himself as a form of creative expression than “for the kids”. Believe it or not, Terry had a HUGE following as his family was on international television every single week. He is an amazing guy who’s still living what he was preaching back then.
