I don’t have the tape on this one – yet. I did support the vinyl re-issue of The Julies Lovelife ep, and a cassette re-issue of January was a stretch goal that was thankfully met. So someday soon I will have this tape. For now, I am listening to the remastered files they sent, and it sounds sweet. This tape was their debut before they signed to Flying Tart and released Lovelife. It is also the same brand of dreamy, nostalgic 90s alt rock that can be found on their debut CD. The interplay between the driving bass and guitars on songs like “The Impossible” showcase what was best about 90s alternative. It doesn’t seem like any of these songs were repeated between the two releases. I believe the scan above is the original cassette cover.
