So, yeah – that is one… “interesting” name. The story inside the tape says that the band was stopped crossing the border into Canada, where their tapes and instruments were seized by the Canadian border patrol. These songs were saved from a garage practice. Okay. This is supposed to explain the rough nature of the recordings. It really comes across as intentionally lo-fi. But instead of sounding like Joe Christmas indie lofi, they sound more like a serious metal band recording lo-fi. But they also have a harmonica solo in “Waters of Luxury” that is actually… “Jungle Bells”? Not sure what they are going for here. I kind of like some of the songs here – they just do some odd things sometimes. The overall effect still seems – alternative I guess?
