This is the first demo by Rude Awakening. They usually get put in the “heavy metal” genre, but they are kind of a bit hard to pin down outside of that. The randomness and experimental nature of the song structures reminds me of Frank’s Enemy, but probably a more commercial metal version with easy to understand vocals. In fact, “The Serbian Monastery Experience” is almost rapid spoken word. But the riffs and music are always heavy, almost punk or thrash like in places. Kind of like a mix of Scapegoat, Sanctified Noise, and Frank’s Enemy if you can imagine that. The released a couple of demos after this one, with a 1991 Demo being the next in line.
