You might have heard of Dual Edge as the first band released by Frontline Records with 1987’s Knock ‘Em Alive. In general, most people liked their album, but found that something in the mixing or mastering was messed up and made it sound really low quality. It turns out that the Frontline release was a re-release of the band’s demo, which had a much better mix and even an extra song. I am not sure why “Open Your Eyes” was left off of the official release, because it seems to match the other songs in style and quality. This demo sounds like a regular label release… so I really wonder what happened with the label release? Weird.
