Yes, this is metal. But – if you remember in the early 90s when grunge hadn’t quite killed metal, it evolved into a heavier, bluse-ier, grungier version? That is the style that is happening here. In fact, they remind me of another band that I can’t quite pull off of the tip of my tongue. The first track is a head banger that should have been on some underground compilations back in the day (and it sounds nothing like the Petra tune of the same name). The second track is scorcher as well. I would almost say these two tracks make me think of what Metallica’s Black album would sound like if they put a bit more thrash into it. Because there is kind of a thrash ferocity underlying those tracks. The third tune starts of slower and epic feeling, then takes off into a traditional metal, almost Iron Maiden-ish romp.
