Based on the cover, I was kind of expecting an alternative rock tape. Well, that and the fact that there is an alternative rock band called Refuge a few years later. However, this is not the North Carolina band that released Regarding on Gray Dot in 2000. This is a heavy metal band from Alaska. Their style is commercial metal from the early 90s – which is also when the tape came out (although by 1992 Nirvana was killing this type of music). They also drift into pop metal in some songs where they rely on keyboards a bit more.
