This tape was obviously in bad shape when it was transferred to digital. Lots of stretched out parts, and a noticeable buzz the whole time. It sound like the band did a good job recording the songs at a decent quality – its just that either the tape wasn’t stored properly, or just wasn’t in a good condition when they dubbed this copy. The sound of the band starts off with kind of a pomp-rock sound that borders on hard rock as well. Sometimes it gets labeled as prog rock as well. But they generally dial it back from being too over the top – they keep the epic side of pomp rock while not getting too wild. They also get into some rock ballads as well. Many songs like “The Joker” do cross into the hard rock realm.
