I had heard this tape before, but had forgotten that it was a Joe Domikaitis alternative rock project. Joe and Melissa trade off (and occasionally share) lead vocals, but think more gothic alternative than Sixpence or U2 or other late 80s/early 90s bands. The drums remind me of Deitiphobia at times, while there are some songs with distorted guitars that push things in a hard rock-ish direction. But on songs like “Can I Be” and “Masquerade,” the mixture of guitars and keyboards almost reaches a horror punk level. Let’s see how many other genres I can work into this review. Kind of even reminds me slightly of a more DIY version of the Hounds of Heaven.
