The Beatitudes
This demo starts off with a funky rock song with soulful vocals, kind of like the funkier moments of Living Colour (with no metal). Then it goes straight into a pretty standard piano ballad that could have been recorded by any number of AOR bands. Then the third songs starts off like a Celtic folk song and you are just wondering what kind of band this is exactly. “Train” is an instrumental with just flute and acoustic guitar. The fourth song is a spoken word track over piano – or really, a dramatic reading of the Beatitudes with some sung parts. Not really sure what style to put this under, because I am not sure if alt rock fans will really get into the mostly rock nature of the songs. But it is too unusual for the average rock fan as well.
