So this is apparently Cricket’s first time recording as a full band. You also start hearing some more of the punk rock influence that they would embrace fully when they transformed in The Huntingtons. But at this time, I would say its still (mostly?) alternative rock. They also cover “Jet Plane” by the Lifesavors, but re-recorded it for their next tape Joe Christmas Playin’ on the Stereo. If you can imagine a mix of the punk-like alt rock of the first Plankeye album mixed with The Huntingtons, that is kind of the sound they had here. Many of these songs are re-recorded songs from earlier demos like Beans, or are re-recorded later, that it is quicker to just list what is only on this tape (“Ever Want,” “More,” and “Idiot”).
