They call this demo Sampler – I assume that means it is a sampler of all of the songs they can play live. They don’t really have any demos before this one that I know of. The sound is a keyboard-heavy commercial metal sound that was pretty big at the time (Danger Danger and bands like that). But Crossover pushed the keyboards farther up in the mix than other bands usually did. But it is still definitely heavy metal. After this, they released the Rob rock-produced 2 songs demo called Victory in 1991. They also went on to record at least three demos after that one.
