This is the first demo by The Clergy, right after they renamed themselves from Fodder. I don’t know if they released anything under that name. This is also the only demo of theirs to not make it on to The Corral on Spin Cycle (kind of). This demo still displays their alternative punk rock sound that many heard once they were signed and released Ruami in 1993. None of these songs were re-recorded on later releases. However, 6 of the 8 songs hear were recorded live for their next demo Live in Chi-Ro in 1991 (“Hey Hey” and “Beggar” were the two left off). The next studio demo after this one was Tender, Soft & Milky in 1991. Someone really needs to release all of this demo material on a CD compilation like they did for Empty Tomb. Even this early stuff is awesome.
