Axses is a keyboard-driven pop metal band – that probably came out a year or two too late for that style in the larger mainstream arena. Of course, there was still a market for this style in the Christian music world, so they probably got some attention. If you remember when metal went with slick production and keyboard-driven sounds with bands like Danger Danger and Lillian Axe? That it really what you have here. People might call them AOR today or compare them to White Heart, but that wasn’t really the case back in the late 80s/early 90s. This was seen more as commercial or pop metal back in the day.
