No, this is not the Between Thieves that were first called Judah, but then changed their name when they signed to Tattoo Records. But – this band does have a major label connection, because the members reformed as The Deluxetone Rockets and signed to Tooth & Nail Records. This demo… sounds nothing like their later band. I’m not sure if this is alternative/emo-influenced punk rock, or alternative/emo with a noticeable punk rock edge. They kind of float in that mid-90s place where emo was still very punk-ish for many bands, but you also got punk bands that mixed in emo. They also have another demo called The Cheesy Demo that I think we are going to be hearing soon from the Scene and Unseen Music Club as well. Once they reformed as The Deluxtone Rockets, they released a demo in 1998. But I’m guessing none of these songs were released in this style, which is too bad because they kind of rock. I really like the last two songs especially.
