After writing about their 1991 demo, the drummer from this band commented and shared a link to some of their tunes on SoundCloud. I believe these are the songs from their 1993 demo. They continued to move into what some called “modern metal” in the 90s – a direction that I always thought was better than “going grunge” or “nu metal.” Nothing wrong with grunge, it was just usually best left to those that were grunge all along. Although they do get a bit grungy on the slower tune “Akeldama” (even though one could argue grunge slow songs borrowed a lot from 80s metal ballads technically). There is also a bit of groove to some of the songs, but I wouldn’t call it groove or funk metal. This would probably be labeled as hard rock today.
